We are back from the Paris Air Show which took place in Le Bourget few weeks ago.

Our drone was on display on the booths of the French Ministry for Armed Forces as well as Dassault Aviation. At this occasion we have presented the experimentations which are currently on-going with the support of the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments) to optimize military aircraft maintenance for the AWACS (maintained by AFI KLM E&M) as well as on the RAFALE.

On top of usual scheduled maintenance tasks for pre-flight and after-mission checks, military aircraft have specific needs or can face particular issues. As an example, in-flight refuelling operations can cause damages on the area where the pole touches the aircraft. This makes inspections challenging as it requires equipment and material to access the upper part of the airplane but those are not always available. Donecle’s drone help to make this inspection task much easier and safer.

On top of reducing the inspection time, the added value for air forces also lies in the ability to build a digital history of the aircraft health record, providing objective and reliable data of past inspections to monitor the evolution of the airplanes over time.
